Augmented Reality Art

Last week our class participated in a scavenger hunt all throughout the school to find some hidden posters, and then used an app on the ipads to see the posters come to life. Today, we created habitats for some of the animals. If you would like to see your child’s artwork come to life, you can download the free Uramado App to see what happens.

You can check out the website below for more information about the project. It was brought to Max Aitken in conjunction with Alliance Française in Moncton.

Literacy and Math updates for April 27

For literacy this week we are practicing words that begin with ‘e’:

eau, école, elle, en, entre, est, est-ce que

We are practicing the on/om sound as well as an/am/en/em

For math we are practicing fractions, and the difference between fractions like 1/4 and 3/4. We are also continuing to work on strategies to add 3 numbers, by looking to see if we can make 10 first. If you are adding 5 + 7 + 5, you can add 5 + 5 to make 10, then add 7.

Annonces du 27 avril

Salut mes amis!

A few announcements for this week:

There will be no school for students on Thursday, April 30, and Friday, May 1 for students. These days are for the AGM and subject council day for teachers.

There will be a hat/pj day for students on Wednesday, April 29. This is to help raise money for primary and elementary field trips. The cost to participate will be $2.

We are currently working on earning 2000 dojo points by the end of the year to earn a BIG reward. Students will be going home with a reading log. For each book they read, they will earn one point. If they are reading a bigger book, chapters will count as one book as well (for example you can write down 27 avril – Anne of Green Gables chapter 1, 28 avril – Anne of Green Gables chapter 2, etc).

Have a great week!
